Hello all,

My first time on a forum, ever... searching for advice please.

I have very fond memories of camping in our trailer as children, so decided (on complete impulse) to buy one myself. I'm now the proud owner of a Trigano Chantilly!

I have a 1yr old little boy, he will be my biggest camping challenge I feel; I wondered if anyone has advice or guidance of how best to prepare please?

I'm going for one night to Dorset to get a feel for it (adventurous hey, 1 night!)
He will eat as I do, I have a gas kitchenette area (although I won't be fussing with the awning for just 3 of us).

1. I'm curious how to keep his milk cool - I've considered buying a 12v cool box and running it while we go about on our day trip, perhaps using ice blocks and hopefully that'll keep it cool enough?

2. How cold can I expect the tent to be overnight, he'll be in a travel cot in the middle section; any advice on PJs & Blankets VS vest & Sleeping bag etc?

3. Any suggestions on effective night lights - on the off chance he wakes, what type of light to people recommend please? I'm not sure my trusty torch will be up to the job of a night time change!

Think that's it at the moment, if you've reached this far I'm very grateful - if you don't have answers to the above, I'd still love to hear from you with any advice or tips please!

Oh of note, I have 3 step children, so as soon as I figure out how to survive with a 1yr old I'm hopeful to branch out as the 6 of us... so await the next "help!" post LOL

Thanks so much,

Hello. It's a bit of a late reply, I haven't been in here for a while. How did the camping trip go?

The best fridge to have is a 3 way, gas, mains electric and 12 volts. This is mine.

For lights, I have a 12 volt car battery for 2 LED campervan/caravan interior lights.

Camping with a small child is something I shall find out soon as I have a 10 month old boy.
