Yesterday I bought another trailer tent, I've been searching for one like this for over a year... for the right price. It is a Paradiso, made here in the Netherlands and it is the small version. Its a 1976 model, which is perfect for my 1974 beetle.

Here are some photos.

Today I started to strip the interior work done by the last owner. They wrapped all the wooden parts in a foil with wood effect. It wasn't a good job. I will be removing the cooker as it takes up to much space and the panels on the storage box are to be binned and new ones made. Then everything will get a coat of white paint and a new vinyl floor shall be fitted.

Photos of the ongoing work.

I did a bit more work on it today. The storage box is gone and the vinyl floor is coming out. I also bought a new vinyl floor, its a nice purple colour, I collect it on tuesday.

Thanks, I hope to have it finished in a week or so. I am still deciding on what to do with the corner where the storage box was. I might make a shelving system that can be taken apart for when the roof is down. At the moment I have to try and get the old vinyl floor out.... the glue that was used is rock hard, it might take awhile to get rid of it.

Today I did a little bit of work on the trailer. After giving up on trying to get all the old vinyl and glue off the floor I decided to just cover it up with hardboard. I now have a nice smooth floor to put the new vinyl on. I collected the new vinyl today, but it has to wait until I have made a new storage box in the corner and painted everything before fitting it.

I've not done much work on the Paradiso recently as I have man flu/cold. Here is what I have done though. Adjusted the old frame from the storage box, fitted new front panel and refitted the electrics and socket. The old knife and fork drawer from the original cooker is now fixed into the new storage box. It will have a hinged lid on it.

I would have done more, but this cold is annoying, hopefully it will be gone soon. Theres not much more to do, a bit of paint, lay the new vinyl and fit the 12v lights and battery. theres probably a few other bits too. :D

I did a little bit more work today. The storage box has two lids now, one will have a hinge fitted to it tomorrow and the other will have a big round hole in the centre so that a finger can poke through it and lift the lid out. The knife and fork lid will get a nice knob, but I have to find one first. The 12volt battery is under the knife and fork section. Just need to drill two holes for the cables to the two lights.

New vinyl fitted today.... I took it out again though because I still have to paint. I didn't want to try and fit it after I'd painted incase I damaged the paint.

Finished all the painting today. The purple paint was some left over paint from 2 years ago. I was hoping the paint was a better match with the floor, but its not too bad. A few more things to do until its finished. Still need to find a knob for the knife and fork lid.

Almost finished. Yesterday I repainted the storage box, because I didn't like the colour. It is now a nicer shade of purple. Today I fitted the floor trim around the edges and fitted a knob to the knife and fork lid.

FINISHED! Well sort of, I have a shelf or 2 to make, but they aren't important. I had to fit a new electrics junction box for the rear lights, the old one had water in it.

The hooks aren't going to stay, they look rubbish. I shall search for some white tape instead.

Thanks.

I did think about painting the the blue tick gold, but no, it'll stay as it is. The blue matches my number plate.

New light fitted. This is a posh light, bright white tube bulb as the first setting, then a dim warm glowing small bulb as the second setting. Old light is now for hanging in the awning.
